Myth: Solar Panels only work when the sun is actually shining

Myth: Solar Panels require maintenance

• Once installed, Solar Panels require no maintenance and therefore have no extra ongoing costs.
• Fact: The government will pay you for all the electricity your Solar Panels generate!

Thanks to the Feed in Tariff scheme, the government will pay you 41.3pence per kWh (kilowatt hour) that your system generates, even if only you use it! They also pay an additional 3 pence for every unit you do not use and feed back to the National Grid for sale to other customers. These payments continue for 25 years from the day you install your system.

At night, when your panels have no daylight to convert to electricity, you continue to receive power from the grid as before.

The prices of a system start from around £7500 going up to £20000 depending on the scale of your requirements and property.

BATHE IN SUNSHINE!

You can even heat your hot water using Solar Thermal System. With an average cost from £3500 to £12000, you can provide up to 70% of the hot water for your home.

Thanks to the RHI scheme, available from April 2012, you will be paid for the hot water you generate too. These payments will amount to approximately £350-£400 every year.
